providence time and again

Deuteronomy 8

4: Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.

17-18: You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced the wealth for me."But remember that Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers as it is today.

although the israelites were punished to roam the wilderness for forty years as the result of their disobedience, God continued to protect them. i knew about the manna that rained down from the sky and water emitting from hard rock, but its only now that i come across smaller details that God doesn't forget such as their clothes and health.

God is not just the God of the big picture, but is also the God of our lesser concerns.
