Leviticus 25
18 " 'Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws, and you will live safely in the land. 19 Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety. 20 You may ask, "What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops?" 21 I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years.
I've probably blogged about God's Providence before, but I am compelled to mention the reminder in today's reading that as Children of God we live on a radically different pane.Basically, humanity doesn't believe in blessings. Its like we have to prepare a contingency plan in case God fails to deliver.
If we solely apply business acumen, target setting and trend plotting in our everyday lives, we'll find it hard to reconcile our physical world and the spiritual dimension. However rather than taking the plunge, I believe that our trust in God needs to be nurtured. And knowing our human nature God does pace us according to our individuality and his timing.
In the meantime, believe that there is such thing as a free meal.
