my spiritual story - part 4

I was still not actively serving in any ministry at Church. I would have been even more lost if not for my small group that I find myself accountable to. A year ago, we covenanted for each of us to go for a mission trip.

I responded to the church bulletin for volunteers to a come on board the Children’s Ministry Mission trip to Cambodia. My predominate role was to paint murals. During our pre-trip preparation, Pastor Wendy Watson came to pray for us and speak about the spiritual dimension of a mission trip – we are effectively engaging in spiritual warfare by challenging locational satanic authority.

I mentioned the encounter I had in school with the graffiti with regards to locational satanic authority in my own neighborhood. And this was when she spoke a word for me. Pastor Wendy Watson said that when my prayers were answered over the vandalism, God was reclaiming that location back. And in the same way, my mural paintings in Cambodia would be my personal spiritual act of worship that would consecrate the wall and pave the way for God to reclaim the location.

My specific role in the mission team – mere coincidence or answered prayer?

As I reflect upon the map of the faithfulness of God during this silent retreat, I can see that God is actively working in my life and through my life. And I can pretty sure that my formative spiritual years are just a preview for even greater things to come.

As we explore our spiritual giftings tomorrow, I shall reflect deeper into mine – Craftsmanship: the divine enablement to creatively design and construct items to be used for ministry.

The pilgrim progresses. From the little girl I know to the young lady leaving the country for greater things.

I'm a naggy old lady ;) but I've always believe that you have more to give...to God and to your friends around you. As I said, I can't wait to see what God has in store.

"And I can pretty sure that my formative spiritual years are just a preview for even greater things to come." Mere coincidence or answered prayer? Think I know the answer. Hope you do too.
